In this article:
The best employee recognition software for a trucking fleet is the one your drivers can use from the cab, without a desk or a company email account. As of October 2026, eight platforms state features that fit that test: Workhuman, Awardco, Connecteam, Blink, Bonusly and Achievers on the general side, and Samsara and Netradyne for fleets already running their telematics or cameras.
- Workhuman Frontline Recognition
- Awardco
- Connecteam
- Blink
- Bonusly
- Achievers
- Samsara (Driver App recognition and Driver Perks)
- Netradyne (DriverStars and GreenZone Score)
Every fact below comes from the vendor's own page, opened in October 2026. None of these vendors is ranked above another. The "fits" lines are based only on what each vendor says it is built for.
How we compared them: the driver-fit matrix
Most recognition software is built for office teams on Slack or Microsoft Teams. Drivers are different: they are on the road, often on a personal phone, and may never log in to a company system. This matrix checks the facts that matter for that.
| Platform | How it says it reaches people away from a desk | Offline or physical option stated | Tied to fleet telematics | Pricing published on its site |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Workhuman | Email, SMS, QR, physical cards, kiosks | Yes (physical cards, kiosks) | Not stated | Not on the pages we opened |
| Awardco | Mobile app, browser, kiosks; alerts by app, email or SMS | Yes (physical cards) | Not stated | Not on the pages we opened |
| Connecteam | One app "built for frontline teams" | Not stated | Not stated | Yes, free for up to 10 users |
| Blink | Mobile-first app with Kudos | Not stated | Not stated | Yes, per-user plans |
| Bonusly | Slack, Teams, email and mobile | Not stated | Not stated | Yes, including a free plan |
| Achievers | Mobile and desktop access | Not stated | Not stated | Custom quote |
| Samsara | Samsara Driver App and dash cam voice | Not stated | Yes (Samsara) | Driver Perks at no added cost to Samsara customers |
| Netradyne | Driver•i Mobile App | Not stated | Yes (Netradyne cameras) | Not on the pages we opened |
As of October 2026, from each vendor's own pages linked below. "Not stated" means we did not find it on the pages we opened, not that the product lacks it.
1. Workhuman
Workhuman's Frontline Recognition page says "Recognition has always favored desk workers. Not anymore." It lists several ways to recognize someone: email, SMS, QR codes, physical cards and kiosks. Digital and physical awards are captured in one place, and the page says each award is "verified, traceable, and tied to a real identity", with admin, reporting and spend controls. The page also describes an offering "for companies of 500 to 2,500 employees".
Fits: larger fleets that want one recognition system for drivers, shop staff and office teams, with tight control over award spending.

2. Awardco
Awardco has a page for offline recognition for frontline and deskless teams. It describes custom physical cards a manager can hand to someone, recognition sent from a mobile app, browser or kiosk, and alerts by app, email or SMS. On whether employees need the app or a corporate email address, Awardco answers "Not always", and says a worker may scan a card with a phone or get a text with a link. Depending on setup, admins can control budgets, who can hand out cards and how awards are claimed.
Fits: fleets that want a supervisor to hand a driver something physical at the terminal while the award is still recorded in a system.
3. Connecteam
Connecteam describes itself as "one simple app built for frontline teams" on its home page. Its recognition and rewards feature covers badges, personal notes, public or private recognition, and manager budgets. Rewards are tokens that employees convert into gift cards from a list of vendors. The pricing page lists a small business plan that is free for up to 10 users.
Fits: small fleets that also need scheduling, time tracking or a team chat app, and want recognition in the same place.
4. Blink
Blink calls itself a mobile-first employee experience platform. Its logistics page says it gives "every driver, warehouse associate, and depot worker" one place for shift updates, safety alerts, training and recognition. The recognition feature, called Colleague Recognition or Kudos, posts awards to a company newsfeed from a set of customizable awards. Blink lists per-user plans on its pricing page.
Fits: fleets that first need a way to reach drivers with news and safety alerts, with recognition as one feature of that app.
5. Bonusly
Bonusly says its recognition "lives everywhere your team works": Slack, Teams, email and mobile. Its pricing page lists a free plan for small teams and paid per-user plans, and says integrations carry no extra charge. Rewards are redeemed from a catalog, and the page notes that a $10 gift card costs the employer $10.
Fits: fleets whose dispatch and office staff already live in Slack or Teams. For drivers, confirm the mobile experience works for people who will never open those tools.
6. Achievers
Achievers' home page says its recognition is "designed for your online, deskless, and remote teams", and its pricing page lists mobile and desktop access, HCM integrations such as Workday, and support in 200+ languages. Pricing is by custom quote.
Fits: larger fleets with an HR system like Workday that want recognition tied into it.
7. Samsara
Samsara builds recognition into its own fleet platform. Its Driver Perks page says drivers already earn recognition in the Samsara Driver App through Competitions leaderboards, automatic kudos for safe driving, and milestones or streaks. Driver Perks, available from September 10, 2026 to eligible U.S. drivers, adds discounts "from more than 50 brands, at no additional cost to Samsara customers". Samsara's driver experience page describes an AI assistant in the dash cam that gives "recognition for safe driving".
Fits: fleets already on Samsara hardware that want recognition driven by the safety data they collect.
8. Netradyne
Netradyne's driver self-coaching page says drivers can earn DriverStars, which can raise their own GreenZone Score and the fleet's. Drivers see their score in the Driver•i Mobile App and can compare it with the fleet average and goal. The page states: "Fleet managers have access to your score; fellow drivers do not."
Fits: fleets running Netradyne cameras that want recognition for safe moments, not only alerts for unsafe ones.
What research says makes recognition work
Software is only the delivery. The research on recognition points to a few things that decide whether it helps.
- Quality matters for retention. In a Gallup and Workhuman study that tracked nearly 3,500 employees from 2022 to 2024, well-recognized employees were 45% less likely to have changed employers two years later (Gallup). That is a correlation, not proof that recognition caused it. The same research found just 22% of employees say they get the right amount of recognition.
- Fairness is visible. Only 26% of employees strongly agreed they get similar recognition to teammates with similar performance (Gallup). A tool that only managers can use, at one terminal, can make that worse.
- Even symbolic recognition moves effort. A field experiment found that unannounced public recognition raised later performance, mostly among workers who were not recognized (Bradler, Dur, Neckermann and Non). Another found a purely symbolic award raised performance by about 12% on average (Kosfeld and Neckermann, 2011).
- Narrow awards can backfire. A study of an attendance award at an industrial laundry found gaming of the eligibility rules and an 8% efficiency loss among workers who already had above-average attendance (Gubler, Larkin and Pierce, 2016).

Questions to ask any recognition vendor
- Can a driver receive and give recognition from a personal phone, without a company email address?
- Does the app work for someone who opens it once a week, not every hour?
- Can terminal managers and dispatchers give recognition, or only HR?
- Can recognition be private as well as public, for drivers who don't want a spotlight?
- Who can see a driver's data, and can other drivers see it?
- What does the vendor charge on rewards redeemed, if anything, and is that on its pricing page?
- Does it connect to your telematics, HR or payroll system, and which ones by name?
