Tenstreet vs DriverReach is no longer a choice between two competitors. Tenstreet announced on March 31, 2025 that it had acquired DriverReach, and as of October 2026 driverreach.com redirects to tenstreet.com. If you were weighing the two, you are now choosing between Tenstreet and the independent driver recruiting platforms.

What happened to DriverReach

DriverReach was a driver recruiting and compliance software company. Inside Indiana Business reported that the Carmel, Indiana, company was founded in 2016, had about 40 full-time employees before the deal, and that its founder called Tenstreet the largest company in the space and DriverReach its biggest competitor. The same report says the transaction closed March 31, 2025, and that terms were not disclosed.

Tenstreet's own announcement gives two reasons for the deal:

  • Scale. "By combining driver and carrier audiences from both companies, Tenstreet will further scale its network."
  • Software. Tenstreet said it would use several advances in DriverReach's software to make its own platform easier for carriers to use and adopt.

Transport Topics reported the same close date and that Tenstreet expected the DriverReach software to improve usability and adoption among carriers.

What the announcements do not say: whether DriverReach would keep running as a separate product, or when and how DriverReach customers would move. We checked in October 2026 and found the DriverReach website redirects to tenstreet.com. If you are a DriverReach customer, ask Tenstreet directly about your account, contract and data.

DriverReach was one of several companies Tenstreet has bought. Inside Indiana Business lists Stay Metrics (2020), Vnomics and True Load Time (2022) and TruckMap (2023), and Tenstreet's announcement page also lists TextLocate among its products.

How the two compared, in their own words

There is no current DriverReach product page to compare against, so this table uses DriverReach's own description in the March 2025 announcement and Tenstreet's current product pages.

Tenstreet today: what it offers

Tenstreet's FAQ describes it as end-to-end software for marketing, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, safety management and retention, and says it is "much more than an ATS". The points a recruiting team usually asks about:

  • Driver network. The FAQ says more than three million drivers use Tenstreet, and drivers use its Driver Pulse app for free.
  • Applications. The IntelliApp stores a driver's data so they can apply to other carriers faster; Tenstreet says it authenticates each driver before pre-populating an application.
  • Data. The FAQ answers "No. Never." to whether Tenstreet will share a carrier's data with other carriers, and says it will not hold data hostage if a carrier leaves.
  • Security. Tenstreet says it maintains SOC 2 Type II certification.
  • Pricing. "Not rigid", based on products, fleet size and other factors, and "An annual contract does not have to be signed" (pricing).

Tenstreet also runs a driver survey and rewards program. For rewards platforms built for trucking, see best truck driver rewards programs.

Fits: fleets that want recruiting, verifications, onboarding and safety files on one platform tied to a large driver network.

If you want an independent option

If you chose DriverReach because you wanted something other than Tenstreet, these platforms state similar features on their own sites as of October 2026:

  • Avatar DriverHub: recruiting software and ATS with a mobile career site, automatic texting and DQ files built during onboarding.
  • Foley: hiring, background checks, drug and alcohol testing and DQ files, with a mobile application that has an "Apply by License" feature.
  • TruckRight: configurable ATS with knockout questions, scorecards and a built-in CRM; says driver data is never sold or shared with other fleets.
  • J. J. Keller Encompass: online hiring and applicant tracking inside a broader compliance platform.

Each is covered in more detail in Tenstreet alternatives and best driver recruiting software.

You are a small fleet that hires in burstsTenstreet On Demand, or a per-driver priced option like Avatar

Moving from DriverReach or any ATS: the records you must keep

Whichever platform you end up on, a change of system does not change how long federal rules make you keep driver records. Plan the move around these retention rules, all final and in force as of October 2026:

RecordRuleHow long to keep it
Driver qualification file, including the 391.21 application49 CFR 391.51(c)For as long as the driver is employed, and three years after
Safety performance histories from previous employers49 CFR 391.53(c)For as long as the driver is employed, and three years after
Records of each previous-employer contact, or good-faith attempts49 CFR 391.53 and 391.23(c)Kept in the driver investigation history file, in a secure location with controlled access
Electronic copies of any of the above49 CFR 390.32Valid only if they can be retained and accurately reproduced when someone entitled to them asks

In practice, that means three checks before you turn an old account off:

  1. Export every file, not just active drivers. Drivers who left within the last three years still need complete files.
  2. Keep the investigation history file separate and access-controlled. 391.53 requires a secure location with controlled access, so do not dump it into a shared drive.
  3. Test that the exported records open and print. An electronic record that cannot be reproduced does not meet 390.32.

Questions to ask before you switch or renew

  1. If we were on DriverReach, what happens to our applicant records, documents and history, and in what format can we export them?
  2. Does the application meet every item in 49 CFR 391.21, including the 10-year CMV employer history for CDL drivers and the exact certification line?
  3. How are employment verifications sent, tracked and documented as good-faith efforts?
  4. What is the contract length, and what does it cost by package, user or driver?
  5. Which job boards, background screening, telematics and HR systems connect today, by name?
  6. Who at the vendor can see our drivers' data, and is any of it shared with other carriers?

Once a driver is hired, the next risk is the first weeks on the job. See truck driver onboarding best practices and how to retain truck drivers.
